When we talk about Arflex, the iconic brand that forms part of Italy’s design heritage, we are fortunate to be able to do so once again with Patrizia Colombo, its communications director and co-owner alongside her siblings.
For my part, we have been working together for over eighteen years, during which time much has happened, but one thing is certain: the steady evolution of the collection, its growth, unhurried and unwavering, remaining true to its character, looking to the past with reissues from its historical archive and engaging with the present through collaborations with contemporary design studios that are relevant to our times.
A know-how that extends to the brand communication for which Patrizia is responsible.
Marenco, Strips, Botolo, Elettra, Fiorenza… are names particularly well-known in the history of furniture, design pieces that have become classics.
This year’s display covered more floor space, a large stand where once again the firm’s past and present coexisted—a coexistence that extended to all of us during a pleasant evening in the centre of Milan, for which I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks.
The reissue of classics such as the Deca sofa system by Tito Agnoli (1969) has been joined by new designs such as the recent Càmila sofa by the Claesson Koivisto Rune studio, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claesson_Koivisto_Rune.
The Tréboli family, which made its debut at the last edition with a sofa and has expanded this time to include several side tables and a bookcase, all designed by the Spanish designer Jaime Hayón, https://hayonstudio.com/jaime-hayon/

and further new additions are featured in this edition, in which both the stand and Fuori Salone have received particularly enthusiastic feedback.

A video featuring a member of the Arflex family—I can vouch for his big heart—because this work (which takes years of experience) is done by people with big hearts... and it’s an example of what the design team does in their scarce but precious free time. Si hablamos de Arflex, la emblemática firma que forma parte del patrimonio del design italiano, tenemos la fortuna de hacerlo una vez más con Patrizia Colombo, su directora de comunicación y propietaria junto a sus hermanos.
Por mi parte son más de dieciocho años de colaboración conjunta, en los que muchas cosas han pasado pero lo que es una certeza es la evolución de la colección, con paso firme, su crecimiento, sin prisa y sin pausa, siendo fiel a su personalidad, mirando hacia su pasado con reediciones de su archivo histórico y actuando en el presente con colaboraciones de los estudios de diseño contemporáneo, relevantes de su tiempo.
Un saber hacer que se extiende a la comunicación de marca de la que Patrizia es responsable.
Marenco, Strips, Botolo, Elettra, Fiorenza..., son nombres especialmente conocidos dentro de la historia del mueble, piezas que han pasado a ser clásicos del diseño.
Este año la puesta en escena ha sido con más metros, un gran stand en el que de nuevo pasado y presente de la firma han convivido, una convivencia que se ha extendido a todos nosotros con agradable velada en el centro de Milán y que aprovecho para agradecer desde estas lineas.
La reedición de clásicos como el system sofá Deca de Tito Agnoli ( 1969), se ha sumado a los nuevos diseños como el reciente sofá Càmila autoria del estudio Claesson Koivisto Rune, Claesson Koivisto Rune - Wikipedia
ó la familia Tréboli, que nació en la pasada edición con un sofá y crece en esta ocasión con varias mesas auxiliares y libreria, todo ello bajo la autoria del español Jaime Hayón, Jaime Hayon – HAYON STUDIO
David Dolcini aporta la nueva silla Antea, David Dolcini,
y más novedades se incluyen en esta edición en la que stand y Fuori Salone han tenido un feedback especialmente aplaudido.
